Junk Food illness (Entry #9)

Nowadays, most people are in a time crunch, they are in a hurry, and those people will always tend to

allocate their time to one thing that they see as important, and in the rest, they will give as little value as

 possible.

That is why many entrepreneurs in the processed food or fast food industry tend to take advantage of these people.

People always tend to have a lot of processed food or in other cases fast food in their daily diet in the idea

 of saving time, and money.

But unfortunately this option is not a very wise option.

An example of an advertisement that gives such an idea is even an advertisement from Burger King.

The advertisement in question pushes people but especially children and

teenagers to buy their product being a very good offer “2 burgersfor $ 6

which proves sufficient quantity at a super low price. But with this offer

comes a lot of calories and other poor nutritional percentages.

As far as we know, fast food and processed foods are usually high in sugar,

salt and fat, while being low in fiber and micronutrients.

The population needs to be more aware of the products they purchase and

take the time to research all the processes that certain foods go through, in order to

make a conscious and healthy choice.

So, despite the lure of "two for four" in our rushed lives, let's recall what truly fuels us.

Should we trade quality food for poorer but faster food?? Our well-being isn't a mere bargain. Instead,

let us value what we eat, understand its impact, and choose lasting health over quick satisfaction.

Real value isn't the low price, but the strength we gain from mindful choices.

Fresh (Entry #7)

After watching the entire documentary “Fresh”, I can say that I was left with a lot of remorse and a

little anxiety when I realized about food industry and how our food is managed.

It’s the kind of anxiety that lingers after you look behind a cover and find something shocking,

unexpected. I just can not forget a certain moments from the documentary, as an example the way they

are handling the animals in special the chickens.                                   Fresh (Video-Trailer)

My opinion of the film is largely positive. It is a great organized

and thought-provoking documentary that avoids simplistic answers and instead encourages critical thinking.

That kind of documentaries like "Fresh" , makes the viewer always

put questions to themselves like the  same way I did,

“what do I really have on my plate?”. That just opened my eyes to see how disconnected we've grown from our food, highlightis how fragile that distance can truly be. After watching the film,

I started to be much more precise about what I buy and to look

much more carefully at the label

of the food on the shelf but also the quality labels of it.

“Fresh” is a film that shows the crisis of the industrial food system and offers solutions by promoting

sustainable agriculture. One think that I appreciate about the movie , was the audience that is wider that

you could expect, because I don’t think there is anyone in this world who doesn’t eat.

However, it probably strikes a chord most powerfully with people who are already skeptical of traditional

agriculture or who are just willing to consider an alternative viewpoint about the food industry.

Another thing that touched me deeply from the movie, was the story of Will Allen, a former

professional basketball player who is now an urban farmer. highlighting the unexpected paths

individuals can take when driven by a powerful effort and vision for change and a deep connection to

 their community is remarkable.

The tone of the film can be described as passive-aggressive.The filmmakers do not shy away from the

less good aspects, such as the economic and environmental consequences of industrialized agriculture,

but they counterbalance it with inspiring stories about farmers and entrepreneurs who are creating

 sustainable paths.

In essence, documentaries like "Fresh" act as a mirror, reflecting the often-unseen realities of our world

back to us in a way that is both informative and emotionally resonant. The lack of awareness can lead to

unintended consequences for our health, our environment, but also our society.

Food is fundamental, It nourishes us, connects us, and shapes our world. I think everyone should

watch this Documentary at least once, so we can all have a knowledge about our food.

Procrastination (Entry #10)

Hello friends, I hope you are doing well. Today I want to talk about the magic of procrastination.

We have all had a day when we planned it for an important task, but randomly you have

a fascinating desire to organize your sock drawer, clean your dust from your shelter or check your social networks for the tenth time.

Unfortunately, many of us struggle with procrastination,as  Mel Robbins was saying  "procrastination is not a struggle, it's a habit.

I also attached a Youtube video with more information about Mel Robbins is talking about procrastination, Hope you will enjoy the video (not much than my article though).

Okay, let's start!

The first step is to take  responsibility and prioritize your tasks.

Instead of letting yourself be overwhelmed by a long list of "I have to do", categorize the tasks in a way so that you can figure out

which is more important than the other. And to do this in a concrete way, we will place the tasks in 4 different quadrants.

This way you will be much more organized and you will realize that you will use your time much more efficiently that way.

During my exam period, one thing that I could not get rid of was my phone.

Every time I felt the need to answer, check a colleague, or stay on social networks. So to avoid this, establish "Phone-free zones"

during dedicated work blocks, if you think you can't do this, use applications that temporarily block

access to social networks and other temptations.

After you do one of these options, you will see that you will be more efficient.

And in order to continue to move forward in studying without procrastinating or worrying about other things we must reward ourselves. Everyone needs a reward for their effort.

Rewarding ourselves for the steps taken and for following the plan for an important task motivates us to continue.

We all are human and we all go through different battles, that's why we need to be gentle with ourselves but at the same time firm in respecting our priorities.

With a clear strategy and actively eliminating distractions, you can turn procrastination into an unpleasant memory and take control of your time.

I hope my article was helpful to you, I hope to hear from you again a feedback about my article.

Greetings !!!

Let Him Cook ! (Entry #8)

Hello friends! I hope you haven't missed me,

In this article, I want to talk about a major problem for today's young people or even students,

 COOKING.

The ability to cook food can be said to be very easy, until

you get to take the knife in your hand and try to cook.

Since I started my studies at college, and also having a job in addition to my courses at college, I've

been forced to cook, but all this time I didn't know how to cook

nutritional food that would help me have enough energy to study, I didn't even know

what I would need specifically to cook certain dishes.

But I don't think I was the only one in a situation like this so far, so I want to talk about cooking.

When you move into a student apartment alone, in the first few days you won't even know what

to buy for an adequate student kitchen, so I'll start with that.

We will need at least a pot, a pan, a set of knives, a chopper, some bowls, basic cutlery, and plates along with some glasses. (many of these products can also be found second-hand or at discounts).

With this equipment, we can say that we will have a classic student kitchen.

Like any student, we can say that we will not have much time available to

cook food all day, so we will have to plan our meals in advance.

What this means is that it would be recommended that before going shopping you make a list and

think about what you would like to eat for the next few days.

And so, we ended up having everything planned and equipped with what we need to cook our food.

After we brought the basic ingredients from the shopping list,

we can start preparing!

Every student is looking to make food as fast, efficient and tasty as possible, so I will give some basic

recipes that we can easily satisfy our appetites during our time as students:

Pasta with quick sauce:

You need a bag of spaghetti, penne or fusilli, it is preferred, put a jar of tomato sauce, garlic, olive oil and the most important ingredient, grated parmesan. Boil the pasta according to the instructions on any spaghetti package we find (around 5-10 minutes should be put after we see that the water boils).

In parallel, to save time, heat the oil in a pan, sauté the garlic and add the tomato sauce.

After some time of boiling the pasta, and heating the sauce for a few minutes, we can

drain the pasta from the boiling water and add the sauce together with grated parmesan on top.

And finally we have some pasta with tomato sauce and parmesan

Another recipe I can recommend is...

Rice with assorted Vegetables and Chicken

You will need 100g of rice, mixed frozen vegetables and chicken breast.

Heat the frozen vegetables in a pot with a little oil. Add the rice and mix.

Pour water (twice the amount of rice) and add a little salt or other seasonings you want along with the oil. Let it simmer over low heat, covered, until the rice absorbs

all the water. And during this time, you can put the chicken breast seasoned with salt and paprika in the air fryer to fry at the same time at 350F.

Cooking as a student doesn't have to be a hassle. With a little organization and a few simple recipes, you can eat well, healthily and without spending a fortune.

Experiment, adapt the recipes to your tastes and enjoy the process! I hope you like my recipes, tell me in the comments if they turned out well for you.
